RECAP: Week 11

Somethings I really enjoyed about play to learn:
~getting a flickr account.
~playing with image generators
~learning more about Wikis
~adding youtube video
~posting Robin Hood Pics on my blog :)

I thought Play to Learn was a great experience and I had a lot of fun.

Well, now that I'm done... Nap time!

Week 10

I ADORE youtube. I waste so much time on there watching video clips and music videos. This clip is of Richard Armitage, aka Guy of Gisborne from BBC Robin Hood, reading "Flat Stanley" as a bedtime story!! He does really cute voices :D

Download library is a great idea! I looked up robin hood and found a few ebooks and audio books.

LOLcats meets Robin Hood!! hehe.

Well I guess this is the end of play to learn... it's been real, and it's been fun.

Week 9

Zoho writer doesn't seem like something I will use because emails and blogs all have spell check and i usually don't send important documents that need to be edited back and forth. I'm sure that professional business people can use it in a helpful way. I also explored Google documents but felt similarly.

The Web 2.0 awards were very interesting, i chose to explore
http://colorblender.com/
The site was appealing, and I had fun shifting the color bars to get aesthetically pleasing matches. I'm not really sure what purpose it serves but maybe interior designers use it.

This week in robin hood: much drama!!!

Week 8: wiki wiki waaaa ^_^

I checked out Sheldon's playhouse, it's a cute idea.
In general, I love wikipedia, I'm always looking stuff up on there to get a general idea. Also, it's more up to date then other sites, and knowledgeable about current and informal information, like new slang and up and coming artists. the library can't really use wikipedia as a place to refer patrons because it's not guaranteed to be factual. However, maybe it could be used as a book discussion forum, as its easy to edit and add to.

This week:
A tribute to Robin and Marian Love!

Week 7

del.icio.us... I've used it before but i don't really like it. i found a few funny supernatural related things by typing in "Winchester". I also found a lot of really not for children links... so unless Del.icio.us has some kind of filter i don't think i would recommend it.

Technorati seems good if you have a very specific idea of what you're looking for.
The Library 2.0 articles were very informative and true, times are changing but i think the library is very good at evolving to meet the needs of the community.

ah now for the superfluously fun part...

Week 6: Myspace < Facebook

Although they are similar, Facebook trumps Myspace. It's disturbing how pervasive sites like these are, since they dismiss the need for human interaction. A very small minority of my peers choose to reject the "my face"/ "facespace" culture, but it's hard to do that when, upon meeting new people, you don't get phone numbers or email addresses, you're simply expected to "facebook" them.
I check my facebook at least 2x a day... sometimes more like 6. If I don't have any new notifications... i feel unloved. However, this is silly because the whole facespace generation has degraded the meaning of friendship. These sites count your number of friends like its a ranking of popularity. Most people have several hundred... some people have thousands. These people you have one class with or were once in a club together are not real friends, they are merely passing acquaintances.

oh dear... IRant.

Tom is a Libra... and creepy.

I couldn't load billiards, but I've played lots of online games before.

Insanaquarium is much more fun.

Also, why is evil so delicious?

Guy of Gisborne... so the villain... but why do i think he's a serious rival to Robin Hood's good looks?!? :]

Week 5

This is the result of the image generator site. I made it based on things i like... i like reading (so there is a picture of twilight), Drawing (on of my sketchbook), LOLcats (AHHH they make you laugh too, admit it!!) and anime (picture from our costume contest at South County!!)

Library thing is a great idea. I created an acoount and added some books, but I won't use it after this because once you add a certain number of books then you have to pay a fee to use the site.

Rollyo confuses me... if it is just a serch engine then why can't i get the same things from google?
Maybe i just don't need the services it offers.
